For over a decade, Abyss Art's underwater photographer Jukka Nurminen has been photographing tropical waters and, on a professional basis, Finland's underwater wildlife since 2003. The sea areas and lakes of Finland are full of stunning scenery and ecological communities. However, our home waters have been photographed so seldom that they afford almost unlimited opportunities for creating new images. Due to the high possibility of capturing previously unseen images, an underwater photographer in Finland can often be gripped by the pioneering spirit. On the other hand, photographing Finland's underwater wildlife is as much a question of documenting our national underwater scenery as it is of creating anew.
