PROTECTION OF THE BALTIC SEA
Overview
Abyss Art works on behalf of protecting the Baltic Sea by documenting its last remaining healthy ecosystems in photographs. We publish our underwater photography in our own products and the media, and produce photography exhibitions promoting the protection of the Baltic Sea. In addition, we support the Clean Baltic Sea projects run by the John Nurminen Foundation. Abyss Art's greatest effort in defence of the Baltic Sea consists of a high-calibre outdoor photography exhibition Beneath the Waves of the Baltic Sea, which is touring the major cities of the Baltic Sea catchment area.
Exhibitions
Through photography exhibitions vividly depicting our shared Baltic Sea, we deepen knowledge of this sea amongst residents of its catchment area and increase their motivation to protect it. Motivation and enthusiasm for protecting the Baltic Sea will arise from people's own experiences of it, when they are given a photographic glimpse of the last-remaining underwater ecosystems to flourish beneath its waves. We believe that an uplifting viewing experience of this kind will dispel the preconceptions of a dead, lost sea, which are currently hindering protective activities. These will make way for concrete protective measures.

Beneath the Waves of the Baltic Sea calendar
Our Beneath the Waves of the Baltic Sea calendar, with its unique underwater scenery, takes a stand on the worrying condition of the Baltic Sea. The calendar's message is clear: the wonderful wildlife of the Baltic Sea is under threat and in need of protection. Both at home and work, the Beneath the Waves of the Baltic Sea calendar is an outstanding means of providing a daily reminder of this issue.

We Support the Clean Baltic Sea Projects
Abyss Art supports the Clean Baltic Sea projects of the John Nurminen Foundation. We have donated user rights, to our underwater photographs of the Baltic Sea, to the Clean Baltic Sea projects, as important visual elements in getting the projects' message across. Abyss Art has also provided financial support for the projects. The Clean Baltic Sea project package is the most effective environmental project related to the Baltic Sea catchment area, providing this stricken sea with critical first aid.
